Already a successful partner of the event in 2016, they are returning this year with a new artistic fresco that the Flower Carpet teams will create in record time using thousands of multicoloured dahlias. Every summer, Hide & Seek turns Brussels into a musical treasure hunt. One evening a tram depot, the next the ballroom of the Council of State; from the renowned P.A.R.T.S dance studios to a Buddhist centre and the town hall of Ixelles, each concert lets you into a Brussels you don't usually get to see.
Across six days, 11 concerts and more than 40 Belgian and international artists, traditional and world music from across the globe resonates through spaces full of history and character. Each one is a new way to experience the city, through sound, architecture, heritage and surprise.
Hide & Seek is an invitation to explore Brussels differently, moving from one remarkable setting to the next and discovering both exceptional artists and hidden corners of the capital along the way.

The Brussels Games Festival returns to The EGG Brussels in Anderlecht for its 11th edition, from Friday 28 to Sunday 30 August 2026.
Over three days, visitors will be able to discover board games in all their forms: new releases, family games, expert games, prototypes, role-playing games, trading card games, miniature games, creative activities, and opportunities to meet game designers, publishers, associations and clubs.
Dedicated areas will also be available for children, creators and second-hand games. Whether you are a curious player, a passionate gamer or simply looking for a friendly day out with family or friends, the BGF offers an experience that is accessible to everyone.
This year, the festival will explore the theme “Dice Connexion”.
At a time when we are constantly connected, games offer us another way to come together. Around a table, screens can fade into the background for a while, making room for conversation, encounters, laughter and the stories we create together.
Playing means connecting with others, but also with our imagination. Discovering new worlds, taking on the roles of different characters, creating strategies, telling stories and sharing emotions.
With “Dice Connexion”, the Brussels Games Festival does not seek to set games against screens or to condemn digital practices. Instead, it raises a simple question: how can games help us reconnect with others, with ourselves and with our imagination?

Alongside the VakJury, the WijkJury, a jury of city residents with no theatre experience, also chooses its favourite: De Keuze van de WijkJury.
However, het TheaterFestival is much more than a "best-of": it's a meeting place for audiences and artists to engage in dialogue, take part in workshops, and critically reflect on what's happening on our stages. As every year, the festival kicks off with "de States": speeches that set the performing arts field thinking and make room for new ideas. In addition, the sectorprijzen will be awarded on 8 September 2026, a moment to celebrate the talent of the past season.

Brussels Urban Sessions, Belgium’s largest urban sports festival, returns from September 11 to 13, 2026, at Parc du Cinquantenaire. At the heart of the event: BMX Freestyle, urban sports, music, and culture. With spectacular competitions, activities, and pre-event happenings throughout the city, Brussels comes alive with an immersive and vibrant experience.
Brussels Urban Sessions is the largest urban sports festival in Belgium. From September 11 to 13, 2026, the iconic Cinquantenaire Park will transform into a spectacular playground where world-class athletes, music and urban culture come together in the heart of Brussels.
At the center of the event is BMX Freestyle, the festival’s flagship discipline. The competition brings together some of the world’s best riders, including Olympic medalists and international champions, delivering spectacular tricks and pushing the limits of the sport in front of thousands of spectators.
But Brussels Urban Sessions is much more than a competition. The festival offers an immersive experience blending urban sports, music, art and lifestyle, with demonstrations and activities including 3x3 basketball, parkour, skateboarding and climbing, as well as shows and entertainment throughout the entire weekend.
The 2026 edition marks a new step forward with unprecedented collaborations with some of the capital’s leading music collectives, strengthening the connection between urban sports and contemporary music culture. In the lead-up to the main event, Brussels Urban Sessions will also activate the city through a series of pre-events taking place in various urban locations across Brussels.

On 12 September 2026, the Brussels Open Air Festival transforms five of Brussels’ most iconic squares into open-air dancefloors. For its third edition, ten local collectives take over public spaces with programmes ranging from hip-hop and R&B to techno, dub and afrobeats. A one-day celebration of the diversity, creativity and vibrancy of Brussels’ festive and musical culture.
Across the city, five open-air locations will host different collectives, musical worlds and atmospheres throughout the day. A unique opportunity to experience the diversity and creative energy that make Brussels so vibrant.

Icons, 20 years Designer of the Year
In 2006, the first “Designer of the Year” award was presented in Belgium. The prize was originally established by the Interieur Biennale and the magazines Knack Weekend and Le Vif Weekend, and was awarded that year to Brussels-based designer Alain Berteau. Over the years, various partners joined the initiative, and it grew into a well-established reference in the Belgian design landscape.
Twenty years later, the list of laureates reads as a best-of-the-best of what the country has to offer in contemporary design: from ceramic designers and silversmiths to product and lighting designers. Concepts such as innovation, originality, and ecology are often central to their work. The list includes names such as Muller Van Severen, Alain Gilles, Nedda El-Asmar, Julien Renault, and Linde Freya Tangelder. On the occasion of the 20th edition of the title, all twenty names come together in an exhibition at MAD Brussels, on view from 1 October to 12 December.

A ceramic installation evoking a rural interior and textiles made from reclaimed cardboard collected in Brussels. Following its annual tradition, the group exhibition 'Future Generation: The MAD Graduation Show' celebrates the winners of the MAD Graduation Prize 2026 while showcasing their innovative graduation projects. No fewer than seven institutions are represented in the exhibition: Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles, College of Art and Design, Ateliers Saint Luc, École supérieure des arts Saint Luc, Haute Ecole Francisco Ferrer, La Cambre and LUCA School Of Arts. From textile design and interior design to industrial product development and fashion design, a total of 14 winners are honoured at MAD Brussels from 1 October to 12 December.

Right to the city - Right to the Future
"Brussels" is blamed for everything. Brussels has become a symbol of dysfunction, bureaucratization, and fragmentation. The exhibition Right to the City offers another interpretation: a critical tribute. A tribute that positions Brussels as a pioneering laboratory for a new spatial practice.
The exhibition pays tribute to a transversal approach to architecture: it foregrounds a practice that hybridises the expertise of architects, landscape architects and urban planners with the civic engagement of associations, activists and citizens. Right to the city brings together "militant archives" (Isabelle Doucet), the Archives d'architecture moderne (AAM) and the Sint-Lukasarchief – both rooted in the late 1960s and integral to Kanal Architecture’s DNA – alongside contemporary initiatives such as Filter Café Filtré’s Open Streets and the decolonial projects of the Laboratory of Mixed Realities.
Brussels has a particular and often traumatic relationship with modernity and modernisation – commonly and mockingly referred to as "Brusselisation". This "peacetime demolition" has left deep scars on the urban fabric, most notably through the transformation of the Quartier Nord, located directly next to Kanal, via the Manhattan plan. Right to the city situates itself within this history, linking the memory of surrounding neighbourhoods to urgent contemporary issues – the climate crisis, circularity, gender and postcolonialism.
The exhibition and its accompanying programme follow a dual logic. On the one hand, they position Kanal Architecture as a new forum for spatial debate, bringing together experts and residents. On the other hand, they affirm the institution’s DNA as a site of cross-disciplinary practice that focuses on architecture, landscape and urban ecosystems.
Right to the city brings together documents from the historical collections of CIVA, new research covering the period 1970–2010, and eight contemporary commissions. The opening exhibition is supported by a public programme of some 50 events for both specialist audiences and the wider public. A series of workshops will provide additional context for audiences of all ages, and the exhibition will also be accompanied by a guide.
