The Liberal Alliance is a classical liberal and right-wing libertarian political party in Denmark.
It was founded in 2007 as the New Alliance by Naser Khader, an MP from the Social Liberal Party, and Gitte Seeberg, an MEP from the Conservative People's Party. In 2008, new party leader Anders Samuelsen moved the party to the right and adopted economic liberalism and libertarianism. In August 2008, the party adopted its current name the Liberal Alliance.
The party current platform promotes tax cuts, cutting welfare programmes, and socially libertarian policies. It also opposes further European integration but does not support Denmark leaving the European Union.[1]
