La pellicola è un adattamento cinematografico del mito del lupo mannaro.
Trama
[modifica | modifica wikitesto]Nell’Inghilterra del XIII secolo, una misteriosa figura si aggira nelle campagne creando terrore fra la popolazione.[1]
Produzione
[modifica | modifica wikitesto]Nel gennaio 2025, è stato annunciato che Roberts Eggers avrebbe diretto un adattamento cinematografico sulla figura del mito e del folklore del lupo mannaro. La sceneggiatura è scritta dallo stesso Eggers insieme allo scrittore e poeta islandese Sjón, dopo la loro precedente collaborazione con The Northman (2022). La pellicola è ambientata nell’Inghilterra del XIII secolo e recitata in Middle English.[2] Eggers ha affermato che la sceneggiatura del film è quanto di più cupo abbia mai scritto.[3]
Nel luglio 2025, Aaron Taylor-Johnson è stato confermato come protagonista. Altri membri del cast sono Lily-Rose Depp, Willem Dafoe e Ralph Ineson.[4][5][6][7]
Chris ed Eleanor Columbus figurano nuovamente come produttori esecutivi della pellicola.[8]
Le riprese principali sono iniziate in data 8 settembre 2025 presso gli Sky Studios.[9][10] Ulteriori riprese sono state effettuate presso Bourne Wood nel Surrey e Dartmoor tra Widecombe e Postbridge.[11] Il 23 gennaio 2026, dopo 82 giorni di lavorazione le riprese sono terminate.[12]
Distribuzione
