A request for admin reconfirmation is a process by which the community decides if a user retains their adminship. It may be initiated if a user believes that an administrator has lost the trust of the community. It is one of the four ways an admin may lose their admin toolkit, along with voluntary resignation at the bureaucrat's noticeboard, the arbitration committee deciding to request removal, and a procedural removal for inactivity.

Following a successful petition of 25 signatories within one month, an admin will run for RRfA (Reconfirmation RfA) with a threshold of 60% support to retain their administrator role and 50-60% falling within the bureacurats' discretion.

=Procedure

To request a reconfirmation, an extended confirmed editor must create a subpage of this page and notify the admin in question via their talk page and post a message to the administrator's noticeboard. For 12 months after an admin successfully runs for an RfA, RfB, RRfA, admin election, or Arbcom elections, a recall petition cannot be initiated. Once created, any extended confirmed user who has supported less than five currently active petitions may add their signature with or without reasoning, and any user may comment in a discussion section on the page. If the petition reaches 25 signatures within one month, by default a bureaucrat will open the RfA. However, the admin may request to have their RRfA delayed for up to 30 days or decide to run in an administrator election beginning in the next 30 days. Should the admin fail to start an RRfA or participate in an election within that time frame, it is within a bureaucrat's discretion as to whether to desysop the user. Should the petition not reach 25 signatories within one month, it is up to the admin in question to blank the page or let it stand as is. In an RRfA or admin election, a threshold of 60% support is required to automatically retain their administrator role, with 50-60% falling within the bureacurats' discretion.
