This feature......🤔

I’ve known about this ❤️ feature on YouTube for a long time, but Today while reading comments, I suddenly thought—DEV.to should have something like this too. 🤣

On YouTube, the channel owner can heart any comment. It would be fun if authors on DEV.to could also ❤️ comments on their articles.

It’s just a small feature, but I think it could be a nice addition. 👀

GPT-6 Astra has created a lot of curiosity among people. Some see it as a major step forward in AI, while others are still exploring it. What is your opinion about GPT-6 Astra?

Some YouTubers say that AI will take away people’s jobs 😒, while they themselves are making all kinds of AI-related videos and earning money from them. What do you think about this?

The Silent Mic-Drop

So, back on the first day of 11th grade, I walked in with high hopes, new faces around, and big plans. But literally within the first week, things got super weird.

Out of nowhere, everyone started calling me "Divyanshi."

Turns out, there was a girl named Divyanshi in 11th grade the year before who ended up failing. So, everyone thought it’d be hilarious to use her name as a running joke on me.

To top it off, my class teacher completely pre-judged me and randomly tagged me as "The Lazy Girl." Between my classmates constantly messing with me and the teacher's unnecessary taunts, I was honestly so over it and hated even going to class.

Luckily, my best friend Siya had my back the whole time. She’d just tell me, "Divya, seriously, just block them out. I know how smart and hardworking you are. Focus on your stuff and let your marks do the talking." Having her in my corner gave me the push I needed.

I think Elmar and @francistrdev are best friends

I decided I wasn't gonna waste energy arguing. I was just gonna let my results hit them. I started grinding, pulling late nights, getting my concepts crystal clear, and just putting in the work.

Fast forward to report card day. The class teacher was handing them out, and when she got to my score, her face completely changed. She called me up to the front, smiling, and said, "Well done! Excellent performance, Divya!"

The whole room went dead silent. The same teacher who kept calling me 'The Lazy Girl' was literally praising me in front of everyone.

I just looked at her and quietly said—

"Thank you, Ma'am... but Ma'am, my name is Divyanshi."

A Random Coding Thought 💻

I’m actually busy enjoying the festival right now, so maybe that’s why random questions keep popping into my head instead of productive coding ideas

And here’s today’s one: if programming languages had personalities, which one would you actually want to hang out with? Python would probably be the chill one, JavaScript the chaotic one, and C++… well, probably the one who enjoys making life difficult.

👀 Which programming language is your favourite?

🔥 What made you fall in love with it?

🚀 If you had to learn one new language right now, which one would you pick?

When you put your heart into a post and it flops hard

A buddy told me the other day, “Divya, making content isn’t just making content. Sometimes you literally throw your whole soul into it.” Hearing him say that hit home because honestly, every single creator gets it. An idea hits you, you think about it, write it down, scrap it, rewrite it, and try to tweak it just a little more… that’s literally the daily grind for us. ❤️

Sometimes even a tiny post takes hours to make. You just want whatever you’re feeling inside to actually hit the person watching. When it’s finally ready, you get that genuine grin on your face. You’re sitting there like, “Yeah… I really nailed it this time.”

Then you post it, and the waiting game begins. You’re checking your phone every two minutes—did it get views, any likes, did anyone comment? But when you worked so hard and the views just aren’t showing up, it feels so heavy inside. You don’t say anything out loud, you just set your phone down. But that one thought keeps bugging you—“I put so much love into this, why did nobody watch it?” 🥺

What hurts the most is when you know deep down that you actually did a killer job. You love the post yourself. You’re sure it’s gonna hit people right in the feelings. But when you get radio silence, you stop doubting the post and start doubting yourself. You start thinking, “Am I just bad at this?” “Do people hate my stuff?” Those thoughts mess with your head big time.

And honestly, views DO matter. People can say “views don’t matter” all they want, but when you put your time, energy, and real emotions into something, you want people to see it, get it, and give you some credit. Sometimes a single nice comment is all it takes to give you the push to keep going.

But low views don’t mean your stuff was trash. Sometimes the timing was off, sometimes the algorithm didn't push it to the right people, and sometimes good content just takes a while to catch on. Don't question your whole talent over one post that flopped.

My friend said to me, “Sometimes I genuinely just wanna quit everything. But then a fresh idea pops into my head, and I’m like, alright, let’s build again.” Honestly, that’s the coolest thing about being a creator. You get sad, you get bummed out, you completely break down… but you still get up the next day and try to create something fresh. ✨

So maybe your post didn’t blow up today. Maybe nobody dropped a comment or gave you props. But that doesn’t mean your effort went down the drain. You turned an idea into something real, gave your feelings a voice, and had the guts to share it with the world—that’s huge on its own. ❤️

And one day, when you look back at your old posts, you’ll remember the days when your views were dead low. You’ll remember how gutted you felt, but you still chose not to quit. You’ll probably smile and go, “Man, I’m so glad I didn’t give up back then.”

So if your views are down today, let it sting a bit. You’re human, it’s gonna get to you. Just don’t tie your self-worth to a view count. Views go up and down, but your creativity is yours forever.

Because a creator’s real win isn’t just going viral. The real win is when you get zero views, feel completely crushed, and still look at yourself and say—

“Whatever… come on, let’s make the next one.” ❤️‍🔥

AI Made Our English Better… But Did It Make Us Sound Less Like Ourselves? 🎤

I've been thinking about something that is becoming pretty common among developers.🤔

A lot of us use AI to polish our English before publishing a post!!

And honestly,

English isn't everyone's first language. You might have a good idea, a useful experience, or a technical problem you solved, but explaining it clearly in English can take much more effort than solving the actual problem.

So you write your thoughts, give them to AI, fix the grammar, improve a few sentences, and publish.

Nothing wrong with that.
But there is one interesting problem.

Sometimes, after all that polishing, the content doesn't sound like us anymore.

It sounds like AI!

When "betterEnglish" changes the way we sound

Think about the way you normally explain something to a friend or a teammate. You probably use simple words. You might repeat a word. Your sentences may not always be perfect. You have your own way of explaining things. Now give the same text to an AI and ask it to make it "professional and engaging."

The result will probably be grammatically better.

But it may also replace your normal words with more sophisticated ones, change the way you explain things, and add those familiar AI-style transitions.

The article becomes cleaner.

But somehow, the person who wrote it becomes harder to see.
That's the part I find interesting.
We're using AI because we want to communicate our ideas better, but sometimes we end up communicating in a way that doesn't really sound like us.

And I don't think the solution is to stop using AI

For someone who isn't comfortable with English, AI can be genuinely useful.

If I know exactly what I want to say but don't know how to say it naturally in English, there's nothing wrong with getting help.

It's similar to using a grammar checker or a translation tool.

The important thing is what AI is helping with.

If the idea, experience, examples and opinions are mine, and AI is helping me express them more clearly, I still consider that my content.

But if I give AI a vague topic and ask it to create the entire experience, opinions and article for me, that's a different situation.

The difference isn't really about whether AI was used.

It's about what we asked AI to do.

Maybe we should stop asking AI to make our writing "professional"

This is probably where we can improve our own workflow.

Instead of saying:

Make this professional and engaging.

We could say something like:

Fix my grammar and make the sentences easier to understand. Keep my vocabulary simple and preserve my original tone. Don't add new ideas or make the writing sound overly formal.

That's a small change, but it makes a big difference.

We're no longer asking AI to replace our writing style.

We're asking it to help us communicate our writing style.

And I think that's a much better use of the tool.

 Don't accept every correction blindly

There's another thing that helps.

After AI gives you the polished version, actually read it.

If there's a sentence you would never say in real life, change it.

If AI uses a word you don't normally use, replace it.

If it changes the way you wanted to explain something, change it back.

The final version doesn't have to be the version AI gave you.

It's still your article.

Sometimes I even think a slightly imperfect sentence is better than a perfectly polished sentence that doesn't sound like the person who wrote it.

The strange part is that AI-written and AI-polished content can look very similar

This is where things get complicated.

A developer who genuinely wrote an article but used AI heavily for English correction can end up with writing that looks almost identical to an article generated mostly by AI.

As readers, we often can't tell the difference.

And honestly, I'm not sure AI detection is going to solve this problem.

AI is getting better at writing like humans, and humans are getting better at using AI to write.

So maybe the more useful question isn't:

"Was AI used to write this?"

Maybe it's:

"Is there a real person and a real experience behind this?"

If someone shares a bug they actually faced, a project they actually built, or a lesson they actually learned, the value is still there—even if AI helped them express it in better English.

We don't need perfect English. We need clear communication.

This is probably the main thing I want to say.

If English isn't your first language, don't let that stop you from sharing what you know.

Use AI if it helps.

Just don't let the process remove your personality from the content.

Write your own thoughts first.

Use AI to help with the language.

Read the result yourself.

Change whatever doesn't sound like you.

And most importantly, make sure you actually understand and stand behind everything you publish.

Because the thing that makes a developer's post worth reading isn't perfect English.

It's the experience behind it.

AI can polish the words.

But the story should still be yours.

Crazy Things I've thought about since childhood 🤯

Some random questions that have been living rent-free in my head since I was a kid...

So let's see what YOU would do if these things actually happened! 👀

If you woke up tommorow morning and Everyone in the world had suddenly disappeared.....
What would you do first? 👻

If you suddenly got the chance to became Elon Musk's son/daughter.....
What would you buy first?

If you could have any superpower, what would you do with it first?

I know I sound crazy for asking these questions... But honestly, I swear, my brain think about nothing else.🤦🏻‍♀️

Nothing

I am from Rajasthan(State), but because of my job, I am currently living far away from my home and family in South India. I had to leave home to move ahead in life, so I came here with a lot of hopes and dreams. Everything is going fine, but sometimes I still feel very lonely.

During the day, I stay busy with office work, and I don’t even realize how quickly the time passes. But when the work is over and I come back to my room in the evening, that’s when I start missing home. I miss my mother’s food, talking to my father, sitting with my family, laughing with my friends, and all those little moments that I never thought I would miss this much.

When I was at home, I never really understood the value of these small things. They were just a normal part of everyday life. But now that I am far away, I realize that these were actually some of the happiest moments of my life.

I miss my mother a lot. I miss the way she asks if I have eaten, the way she worries about me, and the comfort of having her around. I miss my father too—his advice, his scolding, and the way he quietly takes care of everything.

I also miss my grandparents, my brother and sister. I miss sitting with them, fighting over small things, laughing together and spending time without any reason. Those simple moments feel so special now.

Here, I have everything I need, but I don’t have my people around me. That is probably why sometimes there is a strange emptiness inside. Talking to my family on the phone makes me feel better, but it can never replace sitting next to them and talking face to face.

Sometimes I just feel like leaving everything and going home for a few days. I want to sit with my family, eat with them, laugh with them and just enjoy being around my own people.

Then I remind myself why I came here. I am working hard for my future and for a better life. Maybe this distance is just a small part of the journey.

Living away from home is not easy. You may earn money and build a career, but the feeling of being with your own people is something money can never replace.

Today, I may be far away in South India, but my heart and my memories are still back in Rajasthan, with my family and my home.

Sometimes, all you really want is to go home.

It’s been almost 2 months on Dev.to, and I’ve learned a lot from this community. Not just knowledge, but a lot of new things too!

Today, I’m incredibly happy and proud to share that I’ve been promoted at Microsoft!

Looking back at this special moment, I realize that this journey has been about much more than just hard work and learning. It has been filled with challenges, small wins, valuable lessons, and so many wonderful people who made the journey more beautiful and meaningful.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stood by me, believed in me, guided me, and motivated me at every step! 🙏🏻

And a very special thank you to the amazing people at DEV.to — especially

Your support, knowledge, and inspiration have helped me learn so much and keep growing.

And if I’ve accidentally missed anyone’s name, please forgive me. Every person who has been a part of this journey has made a difference, and I’m truly grateful for all of you.

A Thought to Keep Forever: What Is One Thought That Quietly Changed the Way You See Life?

Hey everyone! 🌸

So, recently I was thinking about something and thought I’d share it with you all. 😄 I really love writing down good thoughts and quotes, so whenever I come across something nice that someone has said, I just write it down in my little thought book. 📖🖊️

I’ve been doing this for almost a year now, and honestly, I’ve collected so many thoughts already. ✨ Whenever I’m confused about something, going through a situation, or just need a little motivation, I open my book and start reading through the thoughts I’ve collected. And sometimes, I actually find the answer I was looking for there.

But this month, I haven’t found many new thoughts to write down. So I thought, why not ask you guys?

If you know any good thought, quote, or line that you really like, please share it with me! ✨ I’d love to add some new ones to my book.

What’s Your Hobby! 👀

My hobby🍧

My first and absolute favorite hobby is travelling around the world. 🌍✈️ I love visiting different countries, experiencing their cultures up close, and exploring new places. So far, I’ve travelled to four countries — Japan 🇯🇵, China 🇨🇳, Germany 🇩🇪, and Brazil 🇧🇷.

My second hobby is learning new languages. 🗣️ So far, I’ve learned Chinese, Hindi, and English, and now my next goal is to learn Japanese. 🇯🇵 I believe learning a language isn’t just about learning new words and grammar; it’s also about understanding the culture and way of thinking behind that language.

And then comes my third hobby, which is a little unusual — talking to trees.

What’s Your Hobby!
