Categories

Four categories, not forty

A short list you can take in at a glance. Each category is a page of its own.

How it is picked

Small on purpose, checked by hand.

A directory is only useful when every entry on it is worth your time. That is the whole job here.

  1. 01

    Add our badge

Paste the badge on your app's website. That is what the listing costs.

  2. 02

Sign up, tell us about the app

A free account, then name, what it does, category, price, icon and up to four screenshots.

  3. 03

    A person reviews it

You get an email when it is live, or when it is not and why.

  • Reviewed by a person

Every app is installed and tried before it goes up. Nothing is listed by a script or a feed.

  • Real Mac apps only

Apps built for macOS. Not a course, an ebook, a template pack or a website in a wrapper.

  • The developer's own site

Every button goes to the developer. Formac never hosts, repackages or sells a download.

  • Honest prices

What a listing says about price is the developer's own, checked at review. No ratings or reviews we did not collect.

More about the directory

What is Formac?

Formac is a short list of apps made for macOS. Each listing has the app's icon, what it does, what it costs and a link to the developer's own site, where you download or buy it.

Who decides what gets listed?

A person reviews every submission. The app has to work, do what its page says, and be a real Mac app rather than a course, an ebook or a web page in a wrapper.

Does it cost anything to browse?

No. Browsing is free and needs no account. Prices shown on a listing are the developer's own, paid on their site, never through Formac.

Do you host the downloads?

No. Every "Get" button goes to the developer's site or the Mac App Store. Formac never hosts or repackages an app.

A listing is out of date. What do I do?

Email us at the address in the footer with the app's name and what changed. Developers can ask for edits to their own listing the same way.
